She's got nothing.

Twilight has gone through every single book in the Milliways library about unicorn magic. Then she went through every book on time magic in general. Then she went through every other book about magic she could find that was in a language she could read. And still, she's got nothing.

What is she going to do? What can she do? It would be bad enough if it was just her and Trixie, but there are dozens of people affected by this. Dozens of people who can't go home, or who can't even remember their homes anymore.

She's miscast spells before, but this may be the worst thing she's ever done.

Slowly, staring disconsolately at her hooves, Twilight shuffles out across the Milliways grounds and into the waiting forest. She only has one pony left to turn to, but her hopes aren't exactly high.

that this argument leaves her unmoved.

"And are these displays of power
always over a mere flower?"

"...well, no..."

"It wash over an age shpell."

"What cause is that to duel between adults?
A childish action, with childish results."

Twilight opens her mouth to protest, then shuts it again. She really can't argue with that.

Trixie, however, protested.

"She... she couldn't do an age shpell the lasht two timesh and sh- she didn't lishen t'me."

"So you discourage and you taunt,
and once more your own powers vaunt?"

"W- well... I did do it before... with the red amulet. Twish."

...Yeah, she'll just shut up now.

She nods. They both appear chastened.
Now their solution should be hastened.

"When trying to fix this, may I ask,
how did you approach this task?"

"Well, I tried to cast the spell again, but I wasn't powerful enough," says Twilight. "Neither of us are."

"I tried, too... Cashting the childing shpell... I even... tried a fashter aging, magical purging, an... an a bunch of other stuff... but nothing worked."

Oh, look, she stopped slurring.

"And I read every single spellbook in the Milliways library, but there was nothing comparable to our situation," adds Twilight. "I'm out of ideas here."

"It's true, in your diminished state,
your magic powers are not great,
so your usual approach will not work here.
A new tactic's needed, this is clear.
If different spells won't save the day,
perhaps a spell done a different way?"

Twilight cants her head to one side. "What do you mean?"

Trixie narrows her eyes. "Different how...?" She's all ears, given that she tried to modify the age spell so that it ages her quicker than normal rather than the normal use of deciding how old someone is.

"Correct me if I'm being a dunce,
but you both cast your youth spell at once?"

Twilight looks at Trixie. "I assume that's what happened..."

"We were b- both trying to child a plant."

"The two of you, working side by side.
Your magic must have amplified."

"Well, yeah, but we don't have enough magic to do that now."

A beat.

"Do we?"

Trixie is silent for a few seconds as she recalls something someone else said.

"...Someone told me that there are people that can give us power..."

"That's good if these can provide aid,
But even if not, don't be afraid.
If you truly cooperate,
your little may prove far more great.
Not enough to restore many, true,
But perhaps enough for two?"

It takes Twilight a moment to realize what Zecora is getting at.

"Oh! So if we change ourselves back first..."

"...Then Trixie would be able to perform at Nightmare Night again!"

There's a small pause.

"...Oh, and change everypony back, too."

"Remember, collaboration is key!
The secret is not I but we."
